　　Thestoryunfoldsonpost-apocalypticEarth,afterameteoritecollisionnearlywipesoutallhumancivilizationaftersettingoffnuclearweapons.Followingthiscatastrophe,ConnorMacLeod(theprotagonistoftheoriginalfilm)andotherImmortalssweartorenouncetheGameoffightingeachotheruntilonlyoneImmortalremainstowinthePrize.Instead,theImmortalssweartopreservehumanknowledgeandhelphumanity.TheycastawaytheirswordsandcallthemselvesJettators(fromtheFrenchjette,"thrownaway".eee　　ButoneImmortal,Kortan,refusestosweartheoath-hestillseeksthePrizeandnowwishestodominatetheworld.ConnorchallengesKortantoaduelandisdefeatedandkilled,asanyImmortalwhobreakstheoathisdestinedtodie.However,withConnor'sdeathcomestheprophecyoftheriseofanewImmortal,unboundbytheoath,whowilldefeatKortan.UncontestedbytheJettatorsandnigh-unkillablebymortals,Kortanestablishesanempirecontrollingmostoftheplanet,whichherulesfromhisfortressMogonda.　　700yearslater,aHighlandyouthnamedQuentiniskilledtryingtodefendhisclan,theDundee,fromKortan'sslavers.HeistheprophesiedImmortalandreturnstolife.HisdyingmotherrevealshistrueidentitytobeQuentinMacLeodfromclanMacLeod,"TheLastoftheMacLeods".QuentinmeetstheJetattorDonVincenteMarinoRamirez,whobecomeshismentor.RamirezteachesQuentinaboutImmortalsandhismissiontoconfrontKortan,andtrainshimincombat.　　AccompaniedbyRamirez,hisadoptivesisterClyde,andtheirpetGaul,QuentinseeksouttheJettatorstogaintheirQuickeningandtheirknowledge-notbybeheading,butbyasharingasMacLeodandtheJettatorgraspthesameswordsimultaneously(althoughtheeffectsaresometimesjustasdestructivetothesurroundingarea).InthewakeofasharingtheJettatorbecomesmortalandoftenhisorherswordshatterstosignifythis.WiththewisdomofRamírezandtheQuickeningsoftheJettators,QuentinmaybeabletodestroyKortan.　　Despitebeingredesignedtoattractayoungeraudience,theshowwassurprisinglymature/violentitwasn'tuncommonforminorcharacterstodie,andwhileQuentintookotherImmortals'powerandknowledgewithoutalsotakingtheirlives,Kortanstilldidittheoldway,bybeheadingthem.Inaddition,thoughessentiallyagood-versus-evilscenario,mostofthecharactersonbothsidesweremorethanjustblackandwhiteheroesandvillains.ManyofKortan'shenchmenareshowntohavegoodcharacteristicsandfeelings-andevenonoccasionQuentinwillbetemptedbygreedandbeselfish,especiallywhenofferedthechancesofimmensepower.Ofcourse,ultimately,hisgoodsidealwayswinsthrough.SomeepisodesinvolveJettatorsmakinguseofaloopholeintheiroathtochallengeKortanregardless,suchasMatsuda,whobuiltacyborgtofightKortaninhisstead,orCornell,whochangedhisnametoOriontobeabletofightKortan.
